The sim-racing peripherals manufacturer Ascher is probably little known to all racers, but it’s a brand active on the sim-racing steering wheel market mainly. The wheels it offers are typically GT/endurance, often in partnership with McLaren.

Other peripherals in the Ascher range include dashboards. These are interesting peripherals to have on your setup, especially if you have a steering wheel that doesn’t offer a screen.

For the SimRacing Expo 2025, Ascher has added a new entry to its catalog in the form of another dashboard. The brand’s dashboards come in two sizes: 4″ and 5″. As for the AR8, it’s 8″, which is quite large compared with the manufacturer’s current offering.

The AR8’s panel is LED technology, with a resolution of 1200×400 pixels, which isn’t bad at all, especially when you consider that most other dashboards are often in the 800×400 pixel range.

The screen is housed in a metal case, with LEDs for RevLED. A total of 26 LEDs take care of this both above the screen and on its sides. These LEDs will allow you to have something like 16 million different colors, as they are obviously RGB, and the AR8 is also SimHub-compatible for telemetry.

Unlike the other announcements at SimRacing Expo 2025, the AR8 is already available for purchase at €500.
