The first concrete information onAssetto Corsa 2 has just appeared on the web, and the worldwide sim-racing community is more than delighted. Kunos Simulazioni has created a Steam page for the game – which, by the way, is called Assetto Corsa Evo – and has finally revealed some useful information that has been eagerly awaited by the virtual racing community worldwide.
Assetto Corsa Evo latest news
It has to be said that the announcement was long overdue on the part of the studio behind AC. Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione were released a long time ago, almost 6 years for ACC. In the world of video games, that’s a long time to wait. Typically, we end up with a new title every 4 years, giving developers, publishers and other studios time to work on new experiences, and even new hardware.

For Assetto Corsa Evo, development studio Kunos Simulazioni has delivered some tantalizing news, if I may say so myself. For starters, the Steam page features breathtaking images of several cars, including Porsches, Alpines, Alfa Romeos, a Mercedes, a Lamborghini and Hyundais. The game’s brand-new graphics engine really shines on the visual side, especially in terms of light reflection.
The game’s Steam page states: “Like its predecessor, Assetto Corsa Evo includes vehicles of all classes and from all eras of automotive history. From road cars to classic models, hypercars and racing cars. The game incorporates the most emblematic and iconic representations of the world of automobiles and motorsports. Each vehicle has been modeled using an advanced system simulating mechanical, electronic and aerodynamic performance, and all circuits have been faithfully created using Laserscan technology”.

What’s more, careful attention has been paid to both the exterior and interior of the cars. This is made possible by the hardwares currently available, notably on PC, but also on Next Gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S). For PC, the minimum configuration has been unveiled by the studio, and is as follows: an i7 8th Gen/R5 1500X, a GTX 1070/RX 580, an SSD and 16 GB RAM. The recommended version is: i5 10th Gen/R5 2600X, RTX 2070/RX 5600, SSD and 16 GB RAM. Frankly, I expected Assetto Corsa Evo to be much more resource-hungry than this.
In terms of release, the studio predicts availability for summer 2024, first in early access on PC, then on Next Gen consoles. We’ll just have to wait a little longer to find out the final availability date.
