As an expert in sim racing, I test the best racing wheels, cockpits and games to help you make the right choice.

The end of the year heralds many events, such as Christmas, snow and festivities. But before we get to December, we have November, which comes right after Halloween and the Spooky Season. And what’s on offer in November? Well, there’s Black Friday, with all its surreal offers!

Virtually every market is affected by Black Friday, and sim-racing is no exception. Among peripheral manufacturers, we have Moza Racing, which always responds during this period to lower prices on a selection of its products, and we’re going to take a closer look.

Moza Racing’s Black Friday offers

Like last year, Moza is preparing some great deals for Black Friday, with up to $100 off a selection of products from its sim-racing catalog. The Chinese manufacturer has lowered the prices of a few of its products, including bases, steering wheels, a bundle, a pedalboard and an accessory. The Flight catalog is apparently not yet covered by the promotions, and before you place your orders, be aware that these offers will take effect from November 21, and not before. You can subscribe to Moza’s newsletter to be notified in advance, so you don’t miss out on any promotions.

The bundle on sale

Moza Racing's R3 Bundle on sale for Black Friday

The R3 bundle represents Moza’s ticket to entry, and is both Xbox and PC compatible. The R3 includes a 4 nm DD base, a 28 cm-diameter aluminum steering wheel, a 2-pedal crankset with spring resistance system and a clamp for mounting on furniture.

The R3 normally costs $399, but drops to $359 for Black Friday, which as far as I’m concerned is a very good deal to get into sim-racing.

Promotional DD basics

Moza Racing's R16 and R21 bases on sale for Black Friday

Moza is offering 2 of its bases on promotion for Black Friday, with $100 off. These are the R16 and the R21, now priced at $699 and $899 respectively.

The R16 is a mid-range base model, offering very good sim-racing performance. As for the R21 (top-of-the-range), it’s basically a more powerful R16, with sometimes more detailed sensations.

Promotional wheels

Moza is more generous with its wheels, at least in relation to the bases on offer. Of the 7 wheels whose prices have been lowered, three are bundled with the R9 and R12 bases.

We start with the ESX steering wheel in barebone, i.e. without back-plate and in round form for $69. The same ESX wheel with a flat backplate and a full version is on special offer for $119. Both wheels are Xbox and PC compatible, by the way.

The TSW steering wheel for truckers is $249 for Black Friday, with the KS also at the same price. However, the KS, a GT steering wheel, is available as a bundle with the base R9 for $629 and the R12 for $729.

The Moza GS V2P, a Formula-style steering wheel, now sells for $399 on its own, $779 with the R9 and $879 with the R12.

The RS V2, which is a touring steering wheel, is priced at $399 during Black Friday, $779 with the R9 and $879 with the R12. A good deal as far as I’m concerned.

Last but not least, the FSR, F1 steering wheel with central screen, now at $599 instead of $649.

Moza Racing's SR-P crankset on sale for Black Friday

Moza’s SR-P Load Cell crankset has been reduced in price from $159 to $139. It’s a small reduction, but it’s still a pedalboard with a 100 kg LC and metal construction. So, it’s really not bad.

Promotional accessories

The only accessory in Moza’s catalog on special offer is its Quick Release. This QR, based on the D1Spec, is priced at $55 for Black Friday.
