Following the launch of its CSL CockpitFanatec surprised us by unveiling a new entry in its chassis range, adding to its catalog of sim-racing peripherals: the ClubSport GT Cockpit. Today, the German brand, which has been part of Corsair for several months now, has secured its position with a complete range, and is determined to reclaim its throne as the king for virtual racers. And this new chassis has the onerous task of winning over the hearts of salon racers.
In a nutshell: what is the CS GT Cockpit?
The GT Cockpit is a 50 mm-diameter tubular steel chassis, perfect for GT-type racing where you have a rather standard driving position. However, you can use it on rally, F1 or touring titles without the slightest problem.
We’ve got a tubular structure that accommodates bucket seats with slides, a deck that accommodates both Fanatec and third-party chainstays, a fairly standard crankset mount and a screen mount behind the DD chainstay. And since Fanatec offers other peripherals, such as handbrakes and shifters, there are specific side mounts for these products.
Visually, the GT Cockpit is very attractive, especially in black, as Fanatec also offers it in white, with a bucket seat available in 2 colors, but only on the rear shell. And if you’re into sim-racing, you’ll have noticed that the GT Cockpit looks a lot like the Corsair Sim Racing Cockpit we saw in summer. In fact, the GT Cockpit and the Corsair Cockpit are the same, just with different names. Corsair developed the cockpit, acquired Fanatec along the way, and the chassis found its way into the German brand’s catalog, as it is the sim-racing specialist. And there you have it.

Compatibility, pricing and availability
Needless to say, GT Cockpit is compatible with all Fanatec chainstays, from CSL DD and Podium DD2 to ClubSport and even older CSW V2.5 models. As for the other peripherals in the Fanatec range, everything is supported too, from cranksets and accessories to shifters and handbrakes, and even screens up to 49″ diagonal.
In terms of price, the GT Cockpit retails for €914.95, which really isn’t all that expensive, especially when compared with the competition from Simlab and Next Level Racing. Admittedly, these two brands have less expensive options than Fanatec, but they are more or less all in bare-bone configuration, i.e. without any accessories.
Let’s finish with availability. The GT Cockpit is currently on pre-order, and will be available from January 21, 2025, as will the bucket seats too, which are sold separately of course (€340).
