It’s all the rage for sim-racing enthusiasts these days, with all the product launches and other simulation peripherals. Plus the latest news, of course.
During the second half of 2024, a number of brands announced various products, such as cockpits and steering wheels for Fanatec, an entry-level Direct Drive base for Thrustmaster, steering wheels and a Flight range for Moza, and so on. It was pure bliss, I must say, especially for players with a catalog that’s getting on in years. And I’m not talking about Fanatec’s long-awaited new DD bases to fill a gap in its range.
Speaking of the world-famous German brand, it’s been pretty busy this year. In the first quarter, we had the ClubSport DD. In the second, new steering wheels in collaboration with Sparco, as well as the brand’s first cockpit. And now, it’s the turn of the Podium Bentley GT3 steering wheel to show itself to the general public, and we’ll take a brief look at it in what follows.
Bentley GT3 steering wheel design

The Podium Bentley GT3 is a sober yet flashy steering wheel. In its carbon fiber and magnesium structure, it’s sober. And this feel is enhanced by alcantara grips and Fanatec and Bentley logos in the lower spokes.
For flashiness, well, there’s the button labels and the huge 3.4″ circular screen in the center. You can’t miss it, that’s for sure. The latter is used to display numerous telemetry data, the track and more or less anything else you want, as long as it’s Fanatec that’s offering it. By the way, this screen uses a gyroscope to center the image at all times.
The rear of the steering wheel features a back-plate with 6 paddles, 4 of them magnetic, for shifting and whatever else you want. There are also two other analog paddles for Dual Clutch, Launch Control, etc. Also, the QR2 Pro Wheel Side takes its place, and from what I’ve seen, it might be missing some aesthetic elements like cutlery, or it’s intended to give it a racing look.
Price and availability of the new Fanatec steering wheel

For the price, this steering wheel will literally cost you an arm and a leg. Part of the Podium range, the Bentley GT3 retails for €1999.95 on the German brand’s website. It’s expensive, yes, very expensive, but this steering wheel equips the Bentley Continental GT3, and it’s beautiful. So…
Let’s finish with availability. This steering wheel is currently in stock at Fanatec, with shipping between 4 and 7 days, rather standard for the brand I must say.
