Moza Flight Simulator: the flight simulation range from Moza Racing

As an expert in sim racing, I test the best racing wheels, cockpits and games to help you make the right choice.

It was with great surprise that Chinese sim-racing peripherals company Moza has just announced a brand new range of products, this time for flight simulation. The news was made at FlightSimExpo 2024, held in Las Vegas at the end of June, and the brand had even presented several products for its new flight simulation catalog.

It has to be said that Moza is well on its way to winning a share of the market from brands such as Logitech, Thrustmaster or Fanatec. When it comes to sim-racing, it’s the German peripheral manufacturer that Moza is clearly aiming for, with virtually the same catalog from both competitors, except for the steering wheels, which are much more extensive with Fanatec.

Moza Flight: the new range of simulation peripherals

So, at the Moza stand, we could see the new range of flight simulation peripherals called Moza Flight. They didn’t try very hard for the name, in my opinion, and it was just to distinguish the racing range from the flight range. Well, I must admit it’s pretty cool, and catchy too.

Products included an AB9 force feedback base, an MH16 fighter-type joystick, an MTP throttle module and MRP control surface pedals. There was also a complementary throttle module called MTLP for landing and take-off. We’ll take a closer look in the following pages.

My review of moza Flight's AB9 FFB base for flight simulation

Let’s start with the AB9 base. This is a base directly inspired by those used in sim-racing, as the AB9 offers force feedback thanks to two servo-motors developing 9 nm of torque at constant, and up to 12 nm at peak. The design of this base is sober, minimalist and, above all, beautiful. The construction uses aluminum from the aeronautics industry, as we’re used to seeing from Moza and its sim-racing products. Coupled with the engines, we have an MCLS algorithm that retranscribes the effects experienced and produced by aircraft, to ensure greater immersion in flight. And this, if I’m not mistaken, is a first for flight simulation peripherals.

Let’s move on to the MH16 joystick. This is a typical fighter-aircraft joystick, with numerous commands fully customizable with the Moza software that comes with this range of peripherals. The design is elegant and simplistic, to match any base. In fact, Moza claims that its joystick is compatible with virtually all bases, thanks in particular to a universal cradle. As for construction, aluminum alloy is used for virtually all the peripherals.

My review of moza flight's MRP rudder pedals for flight simulation

As for the MRP, it takes care of aircraft rudders, thanks to two identical, and also very beautiful, pedals. The purpose of such a product is to control the rudder of aircraft. The MRP is adaptable to airliners, small cuckoos, but also fighter planes and helicopters. It’s a versatile device, perfect for all pilots.

My review of the moza flight mtlp control panel for flight simulation

Let’s finish with the MTP throttle modules and its MTLP add-on. The MTP is a standard thrust module, with throttle and 35 fully customizable controls. This module incorporates vibrators to feel a wide range of effects, including air speed and aircraft resistance. The MTP can be coupled with the MTLP to provide a complete module for thrust, landing and takeoff.

Prices and availability of the Moza Flight range

This new range of Moza peripherals has just been announced, but without any information regarding availability. Surfing to the brand’s website, we note that the base and joystick are currently up for pre-order, with prices of $549 and $169 respectively. As you should know, Moza’s dollar prices don’t include VAT, and for France, expect something like €600 for the base and €200 for the joystick. Then again, I wouldn’t be surprised to see these products even more expensive at Moza’s authorized distributor in France.

As for the other peripherals in the Moza Flight range, namely the MTP, MTLP and MRP, there’s nothing on the Chinese manufacturer’s website. My guess is that Moza will first launch its flagship peripherals, namely the base and joystick, and then round out its range with the rest of the products a few weeks or even months later.
